Our commitment
Every young person who trains with us should be safe, respected and heard. We do not tolerate abuse or harm of any kind, and we act on every concern raised with us.
Our people
- Every GameReady coach, staff member and volunteer who works with under-18s must hold a current Working with Children Check before they start, and keep it current.
- Everyone on our team agrees to our code of conduct: professional, respectful, and never alone with a young athlete out of sight of others.
- Coaching sessions with under-18s happen in open, visible areas of the gym.
How we train young athletes
- 12 to 14 year olds train technique first, with loads capped at 70% and no maximum lifts.
- 15 to 17 year olds train on our club rules, with loads capped at 80%, no maximum lifts and no depth jumps.
- Every athlete answers health screening questions before a program is released, and a coach reads them.
- Pain or injury reported in the app changes the program straight away, and the athlete's coach is told.
In the GRID app
- We do not accept accounts from anyone under 12.
- Under 18, a parent or guardian confirms the account, and receives a copy of every email we send.
- Under-18s never appear on public leaderboards, public profiles or the live "training now" feed.
- Coaches see only the athletes assigned to them, and every staff action in the app is logged.
Raising a concern
- If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
- To report suspected abuse or neglect in South Australia, call the Child Abuse Report Line on 13 14 78.
- To raise a concern with us, talk to any coach, or contact The GameReady Team at info@joingameready.com or 0421 933 742. We treat every concern seriously and in confidence.
